About
More about me and my family
My name is Christina and I am a professional translator and a passionate StoryMaker. My children are now 13 and 10 and they were the big reason I finally decided to join PaperPie (then known as Usborne Books & More) in July 2020, after years of being a loyal customer.
Truth be told, I was sure we'd outgrow the books after the toddler stage... but nope, there are so many awesome books to pick from as my kids keep growing, and both of them really do want to get their hands on every kind of book, from magical Shine-a-Light books, Lift-the-Flap books (so great for all those questions!), to graphic novels, chapter books, new STEAM goodies, and more.
One of my favorite things about being a StoryMaker is trying to find that perfect book for the kiddos in our lives, and I love creating wish lists to help you get started! So if I can help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out, I am always available to chat about books!
More about PaperPie
We are PaperPie. We gather for good around literacy and learning.
We’ve carried our mission through the decades never wavering in our commitment to literacy and learning, to making and finding the best books. Books that matter. Books that make a difference. You and your readers are the best part of our story and why we do what we do. We believe every book and every child matters. That remains the main ingredient of our mission.
We’ve worked to create a story and name that better represents who we are, not just what we sell. We believe we will always carry the best books, toys, and learning products, but we wanted an identity that expressed that in modern and fresh ways capturing the heart of our mission.
The idea behind PaperPie is that paper is our medium of communication. It literally brings our mission to life - in books, game pieces, and activities. We offer exceptional, innovative, and joy-filled ways for your child to connect with learning. We’re passionate about how children consume information. As the world fights for their attention with shiny, noisy devices, it’s never felt more important for literacy and learning tools to feed children's imagination, grow their emotions, and nourish their minds. When you think of pie, you think of something to be gathered around, something to be shared, an experience worth savoring. That’s what we think our business opportunity and products are! Literacy and learning as a lifestyle, stories made to share, and moments that inspire you to gather.

More about why I love these books so much
Both my kids are amazing readers and I give all the credit to the Read Aloud Challenge from Sarah Mackenzie we did when Julien was struggling in first grade. Finding the time to read daily was a definitely challenging at first but it lead to some great bonding moments and a significant improvement in his reading skills. Best of all, his sister naturally joined along and became an independent reader in no time! Books have become such an important part of our lives and I am incredibly grateful for the joy and adventures they keep bringing to us! But since they say a picture is worth a thousand words - and I am most definitely not a writer - here is my little attempt at capturing some of the magic we've experienced:
